Tribute Bands or acts are musical groups that pay homage to a well-known music act by specifically playing their music. Most look like, act like and sing like the entertainers they portray. Good tribute bands make you think you are watching the real deal. So, it was last Saturday in Fort Bend County, Texas.
On Saturday, April 14, 2018, TSE Entertainment partnered with AtG Productions and Johnson Development Corporation to put on Veranda Vibes – A Tribute to Music That Moves You. TSE Entertainment worked with its event planning partner, AtG Productions, to handle all the logistics for the event. TSE Entertainment’s role was to provide a turnkey, 4 tribute band outdoor concert while AtG handled everything else for Johnson Development’s Veranda, a master planned community in Richmond, Texas.
What started off as cold, rainy, windy weather with some hail thrown in there, turned out to be a gorgeous day. People came from all over to see both the spectacular model homes and the outstanding tribute bands performing as part of this event.
Picture the scene. A sky now full of sunshine is looking over this suburban Texas town. The wind is blowing and a busy, blocked-off street is bustling with the young, the old, and all ages in between walking, talking, singing, eating, drinking, dancing, videoing and most of all, smiling. Luxurious model homes are lined on one side; a huge stage of tribute band performers encompasses the other; and food trucks, drink vendors, and bouncy houses occupy the circumference of the site.
The Crowd Loved the 4 Tribute Bands that Entertained Them.
TSE Entertainment kicked the show off that afternoon with Lost Shaker of Salt – Tribute to Jimmy Buffet. Lost Shaker of Salt is a local Houston Tribute Band led by Mark Moss as Jimmy. With “Jimmy” wearing his typical tropical shirt and bright-colored board shorts, they had the audience on their feet waving their “Fins” to the rhythm of their tunes. The crowd was rocked with Cheeseburger in Paradise, Margaritaville, and many more.
Next up was Tribute to Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney. Dressed in their signature cowboy hats, these two pleased the crowd with favorites such as Toby’s Red Solo Cup and Kenny’s She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy. Mike Sugg and Keith Ormrod, coming out of Reno, Nevada, respectively were so close to the real thing that afterwards women and men alike lined up to get their picture taken with them. And these country tribute artists had absolutely no problem in satisfying their fans!
The third act of the afternoon was an absolute homerun, Soul Sacrifice – A Tribute to Carlos Santana! This band, out of Nashville, Tennessee, brought down the “house” with their phenomenal musical production of songs like Black Magic Woman and Oye Como Va. From the jammin’ timbales to the rhythm of the conga drums to the unique sound of the Latin American percussion instrument, the guiro, this band brought their A-game!
Eclipse – Tribute to Journey, one of San Antonio Texas’ top tribute bands, finished the night off right! These guys had the entire audience on their feet dancing. Adrian Alvarez’s voice, as Steve Perry, reeled everyone out of their seats with infamous songs like Don’t Stop Believin’ and Any Way You Want It. They were electrifying as they brought the show to a sundown close. This was the perfect end to a magnificent event!
TSE Entertainment and AtG made a great team to pull together all the various pieces for such a large outdoor event. The people at Johnson Development were also a pleasure to work with in highlighting this master planned community.
TSE likes working with event planners for their events. TSE handles the entertainment portion of their corporate or private party events, so they can concentrate on all of the many other logistics. And believe me there are a lot of them. Our hats are off to Lynda Winne and her AtG team for a job well done.
