Bag of Donuts

There is a visual history in New Orleans culture.

Mardi Gras Indians, street parades, second lines, make-up, costumes, local bands, Carnival, city art, artists both local and transplants alike are only a small portion of the rich tradition. The world renowned music scene has given birth to such art and much has been documented as to it’s importance in wider pop culture.

Enter Bag of Donuts.

The New Orleans based quartet have been providing wedding, holiday party, club, festival and corporate entertainment for over two decades. Celebrating their 30th anniversary as a cover band in 2018, the momentum only seems to be building. Along with their flair for kabuki make-up and extravagant costumes, the four New Orleans natives cover songs in a style they have branded as Superpop: Any song popular from any era. Their flamboyant performances are a combination of ultimate showmanship, call and response audience participation, visual ingenuity, professional musicianship and pure entertainment with a nod to the comedy gods. With over 100 live dates each year, BOD have become headliners at festivals and clubs from Texas to Florida including an annual slot at the world famous French Quarter Festival which surpassed 700,000 attendees in 2017.

Further building on that propulsion, New Orleans Magazine named them one of the most popular local bands while also receiving “Cover Band Of The Year” honors by Offbeat magazine in 2016. In an effort to continue their evolution and sense of reinvention, the band added a two piece horn section in the spring of 2017. It’s just another way of signaling devotion to their hometown and continuing the local sound. Their performances draw thousands at events for NFL, NBA and PGA. In addition, there is always a salute to their roots which is at the heart of BOD’s charm. To quote the band: “It ‘s like Mardi Gras all year long.”

If you are looking for a true live entertainment experience for your music festival, casino entertainment, corporate event or local venue, you can’t go wrong with Bag of Donuts. They truly have something for everyone.

There’s cover bands, and there’s cover bands. Bag of Donuts is arguably the most popular one in town, because they have the most fun with the format—from their Kiss-inspired stage getups to the wide variety of party music they dig up to play. – Off Beat Magazine

If you’re looking for an unbelievably fun party, just stop looking and book the Bag of Donuts!

Their song selections (both old and new) were perfect, and were performed with the kind of enthusiasm that only comes from people who really enjoy what they’re doing. I think the band may have had as much fun as we did! We all danced and sang from the first note to the last encore. These guys helped make our reception the best night of our lives, and we’ve been told by most of our guests that it was the most fun wedding they’ve ever attended. Jerry was an absolute pleasure to work with from the first phone call, and the entire band made us all feel like we were hanging out with the band instead of just listening to them.

Bag of Donuts did everything they promised and more, professionally and stress-free. You will not regret a night with these guys and please, invite us to the party! – Louisiana Music Community and Offbeat Magazine

Dear Bag of Donuts,
Ryan and I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of our heart for being a part of our wedding day.

We had the time of our lives and our reception was THE BEST – and we attribute all of that to you guys!!!

Our guests were completely obsessed with y’all – your costumes, your songs, the way you interacted with the crowd, etc. We have gotten such an overwhelming amount of compliments on our band and most of our friends have said that y’all are the best band they have ever heard at a wedding (I completely agree.)

Thank you so much for working with us and accommodating all of our requests. You were so easy to work with and very trustworthy and I thank you so much for that. I want to apologize for the jazz band coming in and kind of abruptly ending yalls set! Our wedding coordinator at the Sonesta had us on a very tight time schedule and he kind of sent them in without allowing y’all enough time to really say goodbye or end your show, so I apologize for that!
We love hearing y’all play so we will be hopefully coming to some of yalls shows now that we have some free time and relive all the fun of our wedding reception!! I also have some great pictures of y’all from the reception that I have included in this email and will include in some future emails since the files are so big.
Thank you again so incredibly much! We had the absolute best time and couldn’t have imagined having another band than you guys to rock out with!

Jenn and Ryan Gaubert

Words cannot describe our gratitude for the amazing entertainment you all provided. Bag of Donuts helped make our wedding day greater than we could ever imagine. Countless people have told us that it was the best reception they have ever been to.

From 3 year olds to 82 year olds, everyone was on their feet for just about every song. Even Travis’s father who NEVER dances was having the time of his life. It was even better than I imagined. My family is already planning the next party were we can see the Soggy Bottom Boys open for BAG of DONUTS.

PS…thank you so much for “Sweet Caroline” “Magic Carpet Ride” “Mustang Sally” and “SHOUT” on top of everything else. We cant wait to see all the pictures and video.
